Kumamoto City is blessed with abundant nature, with the magnificent mountains of Aso to the east and a beautiful coastline to the west. It has long developed as a cultural city in the center of Kyushu, and today international exchange is also very active. The city is also home to seven universities, including Kumamoto University. Compared with major cities such as Tokyo and Osaka, the cost of living is lower and the living environment is well developed, making Kumamoto an excellent place to study.

By enrolling in Japan's National Health Insurance upon admission, 70% of medical expenses in the event of illness or injury are covered by the government. Students with a student visa are also required to enroll in the “Student 24-Hour Mutual Aid” program. This allows reimbursement of the 30% of medical expenses paid personally under National Health Insurance. In addition, a health examination is conducted once a year in accordance with the law.
