Academic Support

“Until you understand what you could not do.”

The University Preparatory Course uses a homeroom teacher system and places strong emphasis on guidance for students' future paths. Through individual meetings, homeroom teachers understand each student's goals and reasons for applying, and provide individual guidance for interviews, essay writing, and other areas based on those goals.

Class Hours

Monday–Friday　9:15–14:00
1 class period = 45 minutes
5 periods per day / 25 hours per week
※No classes on Saturdays, Sundays, or national holidays.

Volunteer Activities

Studying is not the only part of life as an international student. Kumamoto YMCA provides various opportunities to participate in volunteer activities. Through volunteering, students can contribute to society and interact with local residents and other people they would not normally have opportunities to meet.

Support and Interaction with Y's Men's Clubs

Y's Men's Clubs are international service organizations that support the YMCA. For more than 30 years, they have supported international students at our college through scholarships, invitations to regular meetings, tea gatherings, and other activities.
