ＹＭＣＡ語学教育の歴史と使命
戦後間もない1948(昭和23)年、熊本ＹＭＣＡは創立されました。
その翌年の1949年(昭和24)年、成人向けの「実用英会話」がスタート。
戦後復興まっただ中の時代、向学心に燃える青年を対象に英語教育がスタートしたのです。
その後も熊本ＹＭＣＡは子ども、青少年へと語学教育の対象者を広げ、一般市民に開かれた語学教室を運営していきます。
また、講演会や海外交流も頻繁に行い熊本における「地球市民の育成」に取り組んできました。
