What a way to end the year! ~嬉しいご報告!~

What a way to end the year!

I just finished my lesson with Phoenix class where all of my students are in Junior High school.  It was the last class of the day and I was just preparing to leave the room when I noticed that one of my students,  Ayano Honda was still there holding a piece of paper. I asked her what it was and in her usual humble voice, she said that it was the certificate she got for passing the grade pre-2ndEIKEN.  At that very moment, I was just so happy for her and of course very proud too. I could see how she has really improved and has gained confidence in herself with her English skills.  Of course, I shouted at the top of my voice and congratulated her for a job welldone.

It is during times like these that I realize why I have opted to be an English teacher at the YMCA. Seeing the students grow into confident English speakers and express what they think and hopefully in the future be able to make a difference in the local and global community as well  will always be the driving force to keep me going.

Ayano, once again, thank you so much for making me so proud to be your teacher. Congratulations for a job well done!Ready for the next challenge?
